PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The duration of the undergraduate course of the Department is eight semesters (four years) and leads to the award of a degree in Statistics and Insurance Science.
In addition to the principal courses and subjects of general interest, the program of studies includes a wide range of optional courses related to the fields of Theoretical Statistics and Actuarial Science as well as to their applications. During the last four semesters, the students can specialize in either Statistics or Insurance Science, having in both cases a good background in Informatics. Additionally, the foreign language courses are specially designed to cover the needs of students in these fields.
TEACHING METHODS
The teaching methods include lectures, seminars, individual or group projects and practice. Each course lasts 3-5 hours on a weekly basis. The available resources are up-to-date and help students in effective practicing.
PROGRAM OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
The Department offers the following courses in each semester: (1,3,5,7: Autumn-Winter semesters, (2,4,6,8: Spring-Summer semesters). The student's workload is 30 ECTS credits per semester. To obtain a bachelor's degree, students must earn a total of 240 ECTS credits over four academic years.
