Course Aims
To help students successfully communicate in business contexts
To expand on and recycle semi-technical business vocabulary and language structures
To develop students’ writing skills in order to produce short essays whose topics are directly related to their subject courses

Course Assessment
1. End of Term Exam
The writing task: Students are strongly reminded that the writing task in the exam
questions will count heavily towards the final mark.
2. Essay writing (optional): details will be given by the course instructor on the first
day of the course
Current first year students are reminded that they wiil not be entitled to sit for the 3rd semester end-of-term exam unless they have successfully completed their English language modules in semesters 1 and 2.
