1. Course tutor’s office hours top 
During the autumn semester Dr. G.V.Diamantis will be holding his office hours on Wednesdays 10:00-12:00 and on Tuesdays 17:00 - 18:00 
2. English language course requirements top

 A: Successful course completion
 
First-year students are reminded that successful completion of the first and second
semester modules (Communication Skills in English I & II) is a prerequisite for
the subsequent modules. This means that students must pass the end-of-term exams
of semesters 1 & 2, before they are allowed to sit the end-of-term exams of the
subsequent modules.

 B: Required level of English at entry

The following conclusions have been drawn on the basis of past experience, concerning our students required level of command in English:

• In order for the students of our Department to be able to follow the English language courses offered, they should at least have an English language proficiency level that corresponds to KPG (Κρατικό Πιστοποιητικό Γλωσσομάθειας- State Certificate of Language proficiency ) Β1 level  (= μέτρια γνώση) or equivalent B1 level
• Students whose English language proficiency level is lower than B1 have repeatedly failed the end-of-term exams of the English language modules.
• Students whose English language proficiency level is lower than B1 need to realise that they should make every effort to advance their English language proficiency level if they wish to be able to attend and successfully complete their compulsory English language modules. 

 C: Course support offered to Greek nationals and foreign students

Based on past experience concerning the performance of the majority of sstudents who have not entered this department through the Pan-Hellenic University Entrance Exams (mainly Greek nationals and foreign students) in the departmental compulsory English language modules, we have drawn the following conclusions:
• In order for these students to be able to follow the English language courses offered, they should at least have an English language proficiency level that corresponds to KPG (Κρατικό Πιστοποιητικό Γλωσσομάθειας- State Certificate of Language proficiency) Β1 level (= μέτρια γνώση) or equivalent
• Greek nationals and foreign students whose English language proficiency level is lower than B1 have repeatedly failed the end-of-term exams of the English language modules.
• Greek nationals and foreign students whose English language proficiency level is lower than B1 will be offered additional tutorial support, mainly in the area of academic writing skills. They are, therefore, strongly advised to meet their course tutor during office and consultation hours.
